We are Domestic Energy Assessors based in Braunston near Daventry Northamptonshire.

We cover Northamptonshire and East Warwickshire including Northampton, Daventry, Towcester, Rugby, Southam and surrounding Villages.

As we do not use sub-contractors to carry out our customer's energy surveys we believe this enables us to maintain a high level of quality control, customer satisfaction and helps prevent any conflict of interest with any other party.

HIPS

A Home Information Pack is now required for all domestic properties prior to marketing. This is valid for 3 years or until sold.

This will include:

• An Index
• Title Documents
• Energy performance Certificate - EPC
• Property Information Questionaire - PIQ
• Sale Statement
• Local Authority Searches
• Water and Drainage Enquires

A Basic HIP allowing you to market your property can usually be produced within 24 hours ( subject to your completion of the Property Information Questionaire)

What is an EPC

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a mandatory part of the Home Information Pack (HIP) that is required when a house is sold.

This is an EU directive in compliance with the Housing Act 2004, the Home Information Pack regulations and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

The EPC will tell you how energy efficient your property is, and suggest how you can improve the energy efficiency of your property. This can only be carried out by accredited Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA) and Home Inspectors.

All new rentals now require an EPC. 

As from 1st October 2008 Landlords are required to provide an EPC for all new rental contracts, this EPC will last for 10 years.

G B Domestic Energy Assessors are able to provide this service and can negotiate price for multiple properties.

The Survey

Once you have contacted us our DEA will visit your property to carry out the energy survey.

He is required to inspect numerous elements of the dwelling some of which are as follows:

• Take measurements of the property
• Survey heating systems and controls
• Hot water cylinder (if fitted)
• Inspect Utility meters
• Windows and doors
• Loft space and walls for insulation
• Record age and construction of property
• Photos of certain elements of the property are also required

 HIP's from £340 (up to 4 Bed freehold) and are not subject to VAT
